This study is entitled The Metaphor of the Word Buah in Malay Language Dialect Mempura of Siak Regency: cognitive Semantic study. This research is motivated by the use of metaphorical language style used by the Mempura Malay community to communicate in daily life. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of metaphors and image schemes contained in the metaphor of the word buah in the Malay language of Mempura, Siak Regency. The research method is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques are interview techniques that are assisted by fishing techniques, tapping techniques, skilled conversation skills, and note taking techniques. Data analysis techniques include transcribing data, inventorying data, classifying data, and concluding data. The results of the study are that there are 3 types of metaphors in the fruit word metaphor in the Mempura Malay language of Siak Regency, namely conceptual metaphors, orientational metaphors, and mental space metaphors. The image scheme contained in the fruit word metaphor in the Malay language of Mempura Regency of Siak, namely the level image scheme (hierarchial), distance image scheme (distance), force image scheme (force), space image scheme (container), link image scheme (link ), a part-whole image scheme, and a linear rule image scheme (source-path-goal).
