Penggunaan Deiksis Dalam Novel Paradigma Karya Syahid Muhammad

The study aimed to identify and explain the use of persona, place, time, discourse and social deixises in the “Novel Paradigma by Syahid Muhammad’. The research design was a descriptive research and the research methodology was a qualitative. The research data collections were documentation technique and note taking technique by: (1) reading carefully and marking deixis words, (2) identifying and marking the words which are deixises, (3) classifying data which are deixises, (4) analyzing the words meaning which classified into the types of deixises, (5) describing and explaining the result that analyzed in the form of data about deixis words, and (6) summarizing the results of the study. The data of this study were obtained from the Novel Paradigma by Syahid Muhammad. Based on the data analysis, was found 281 deixises data. For the use of first persona deixis was found the pronouns such as aku, saya, gue, kami, and kita. The second persona deixis was found the pronouns such as kamu, and kalian. The third persona deixis was found the pronouns such as dia, ia, -nya, beliau, and mereka. For the deixis of place was found some words such as di sana, sana, ke sana, di sini, sini, and ke sini. For the deixis of time was found some words such as kemarin, dulu, lalu, sekarang, sedang, kini, and besok. For the deixis discourse was found anaphora and katafora deixises. For the social deixis was found the word sapaan. To sum up, deixises which found in the Novel Paradigma by Syahid Muhammad were persona, place, time, discourse and social deixises.
