Gambaran Kadar Hba1c Pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 Pada Beberapa Rumah Sakit Di Kota Pekanbaru
Type 2 diabetes mellitus was a group of metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycemic that occurs due to abnormalities of insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. Diabetes become a serious disease and should get more attention because diabetes can cause complications that lead to death. Control of diabetes should be done to prevent those complications. Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) is one of methods to determine blood glucose control in diabetes patients. The aim of this study is to determine the description of HbA1c level patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus at several hospitals in Pekanbaru. The type of research was cross sectional descriptive with consecutive sampling method. HbA1c examination use Bio Rad D10TM with HPLC method. The study found 61 patient were in uncontrolled criteria was (60,7%) and percentage of controlled criteria was (39,3%). The characteristic of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with the most age group 45-65 years (62,3%), female (54,1%), and long suffered from diabetes mellitus ≤5 years (57,4%). Proporsion of HbA1c level with uncontrol criteria the most age group 18-44 years (80%), male (67,9%), and long suffered from diabetes mellitus ≤5 years (68,6%). Based on the result of study, it was concluded more then half of HbA1c levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at several hospitals in Pekanbaru are in the category uncontrolled (HbA1c ≥7%).
