Uji Efektivitas Citrus Limon Sebagai Pedikulisida Secara In Vitro
Pediculosis is a scalp/hair disease caused by parasite infest of Pediculus humanis capitis (P.h capitis). The prevalence of P.h capitis is high in developing country. The choice of treatment for pediculosis nowdays is chemical pediculicide, but it has resistance and side effect such as neurotoxic, pruritus, eritema and oedema. The alternative to overcome the problems is to use lemon juice (Citrus limon). This research was experimental laboratory research that has been done from October to December 2019 in the Laboratory of Parasitology at Faculty of Medicine, University of Riau. About 180 samples of adult P.h. capitis collected from children of Fajar Harapan orphanage in Pekanbaru. The Citrus limon juice with concentration of 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, permethrin 1% as positive control and aquades as negative control were used in this research, then repetition was done in 3 times. Mortality of P.h capitis observed in each 10 minutes period until 120 minutes, marked by the absence of movement in legs and antennae. Data analysis were performed after 120 minutes with one-way ANOVA and posthoc test with LSD (α= 0.05). The result of one-way ANOVA in this research showed a significant difference between concentration of Citrus limon juice and mortality of P.h capitis (sig 0,017 < 0,05). In this research, the Citrus limon juice effective as pediculicide and the effective concentration was 100%.
