Gambaran Program Kerja Posyandu Lanjut Usia Pada Pasien Diabetes Melitus Di Desa Kumain Kecamatan Tandun Kabupaten Rokan Hulu

Elderly Posyandu is a health care facility located in villages that aims to improve people’s health, especially for those who are aged. The study aims was to determine the description of Elderly Posyandu work program in diabetes mellitus patients in Kumain village of Tandun district of Rokan Hulu District. The research was a qualitative study with an observation method and deep interview using the interview guidelines on twelve people consisting of the head of Health center Tandun I, chairman of the Elderly Posyandu, Posyandu cadres and elderly. The result showed that the implementation Elderly Posyandu has gone well. The facilities and the infrastructures of the facility was also quite complete. Eventhough the knowledge of cadres and the elderly about the Posyandu was good enough, the level of attendance was still low. The presence of elderly in the Posyandu was likely influenced by the lack of their knowledge. The Elderly affected by diabetes mellitus were quite numerous.
