Hubungan Perilaku Higiene Dengan Infestasi Parasit Penyebab Enterobiasis Pada Enam Panti Asuhan Di Kota Pekanbaru
Helminth infection is an endemic and cosmopolite parasitic disease, one of the most prevalent parasitic infection is enterobiasis. Enterobiasis is a disease caused by Enterobius vermicularis that often occurs in children with several risk factors including age 6-12 years old, lack of parental knowledge and parenting factor, low socioeconomic status, dense environment, and poor hygiene behavior. This study aims to analyze the correlation between hygiene behavior and helminth infestation that cause enterobiasis among orphanage in Pekanbaru. This study was an analytical study with a cross sectional design and proportional random sampling method with 70 respondents. The data collected by guided interviews, questionnaire sheets and anal swab examination to establish a diagnosis. The results of this study were 51,4% subjects had poor hygiene behavior and the incidence of enterobiasis were 14,3%. Based on fisher exact test, it was confirmed that there was correlation between hygiene behavior and helminth infestation that cause enterobiasis among orphanage in Pekanbaru (p value = 0,001).
