Evaluasi Metode Pengaduk Magnetik Sebagai Metode Alternatif Pengganti Jar Test Pada Koagulasi Pengolahan Air : Pengaruh Kecepatan Dan Waktu Pengadukan Lambat
Coagulation is a process of destabilizing colloidal charges with a substance called coagulant. This research studies the coagulation of synthetic sludge water samples using commercial Al2SO4 (alum) coagulant. Coagulation was carried out using the jar test method and magnetic stirrer with variations in speed of 20, 30, 40, 50 rpm and time of 8, 10, 12, 14 minutes. Water quality parameters observed were color, turbidity and TDS (Total Dissolve Solid). Based on the analysis of these parameters the level of statistical significance was determined using a t test at a 95% confidence level (p-value of 5%). The results of the analysis of color parameters using the jar test method and magnetic stirrer showed a p-value of 0,055. For the turbidity parameters using the jar test method showed a p-value of 0,273, while the magnetic stirring method showed a p-value of 0,282. In the TDS parameters using the jar test method and magnetic stirring method both showed p-values of 0,582, based on the average value of the color, turbidity and TDS parameters observed using the jar test method and magnetic stirring method, both showed p-values of 0,582. Referring to the p-value that has been set, each parameter analyzed includes color, turbidity and TDS shows a p-value greater than 0,05 (p> 0,05), so that the null hypothesis conclusion (H0) can be drawn in this study it is true that there is no significant difference between the jar test method and the magnetic stirring method. Therefore, the magnetic stirring method can be used as an alternative method to replace the laboratory scale method (jar test) on the color, turbidity and TDS parameters.
