Karakteristik Biopelet Dari Limbah Cangkang Kemiri (Aleurites Moluccana) Sebagai Sumber Energi Alternatif
The use of candlenut shell as raw material for making biopelet will reduce the energy needs of fossil fuels. So research needs to be done to make biopelet from candlenut shell waste; know the characteristics of biopelet from candlenut shell waste as an alternative energy source; know the best adhesive composition for making biopelet. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments dan 6 replictionts. The ingredients used in this study were candlenut shell (Aleurites moluccana), tapioca flour, and water. The tools used in this study are stone mortar, 50 mesh size sieve, digital scales, measuring cups, peletmill, crucible (porcelain cups), furnace, calorimeter combustion bomb, oven, stopwatch, and camera. The results obtained are the candlenut shell can be used as an alternative energy source in the form of biopelet by applying different adhesives. The resulting biopelet has a density value of 0,85-1,40 gr/cm3, a mouisture content of 9,32-9,55%, a volatile substance level of 79,94-86,78%, ash content of 65,18-96,66%, fixed carbon 46,39-63,84%, calorific value 3908,11-3986,26 cal/gr. The 15% tapioca flour treatment gives the best results on the quality of biopelet according to SNI 8021:2014.
