Sintesis Dan Karakterisasi Komposit Tio2-Sio2 Dengan Memanfaatkan Natrium Silikat Sebagai Sumber Sio2
Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is a good photocatalyst and canapplied for the degradation of organic compounds. In order to increase the performance of TiO2, modification needswith other compounds, for example composite TiO2-SiO2. The purpose of this study is determine the functional groups that characterize by Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) and determinephase and crystalline size as well as that are characterized by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). CompositeTiO2-SiO2 were synthesis using sol gel method with a ratio of1:1 and 1:2, respectively. The result of the FTIR is known that the clear difference between the spectrum of TiO2 and composite 1:2 is at wave number 961 cm-1, the absorption indicates that the Si and Ti have become Ti-O-Si, but in composite 1:1 there is not new peak at wave number 961 cm-1. From XRD known that the synthesis of composite TiO2-SiO2 produces crystalline anatase and rutile where the crystalline anatasr is more dominant as many 79% for composite 1:2 and 79,4% composite 1:1. Crystalline size at TiO2, composite 1:1 and composite 1:2 is 23,542 nm, 24,7 nm and 22 nm, respectively.
