Upaya Peningkatan Daya Kecambah Biji Seledri (Apium Graveolens L.) Dengan Perendaman Air Kelapa

Apium graveolens L. is a plant belongs to Apiaceae family and has various benefits. Celery seeds have a low germination rate. Coconut water contains natural hormones that are used to increase plant germination. This study aims to determine the concentration and duration of soaking of celery seeds with coconut water in increasing the germination of celery seeds. The study used a factorial completely randomized design with 3 replications. The first factor is concentration of coconut water consisting of 4 treatments: 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. The second factor is immersion duration consisting of 5 treatments: 6, 12, 18, 24, and 30 hours. Results were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at 5% level. The results showed there was no interaction between concentration and immersion time for all observations parameters. The single factor of concentration and immersion duration significantly affected the observation parameters. The best concentration of coconut water is 50% with 80.22% germination percentage and vigor index 3.29. The best soaking time for coconut water is 30 hours with a percentage of germination of 91.11%, germination rate of 7.37 days, and vigor index of 3.97.
