Investigasi Alat Bending Roll Dengan Simulasi Dan Eksperimen
Bending roll is a tool used to make curves, widely used in the field of construction work. The bending roll tool made by Alfredo, Sedianto and Arief (2018) has not been tested. The bending roll tool is analyzed to determine its performance using the finite element method and compared with experiments. Testing through the finite element method Finite Element Method software is used, namely Abaqus. Experiments were carried out using two types of specimens including plates and hollow. In plate specimens, the testing process is carried out by rolling the process by adding a load using a hydraulic jack and the compressive strength is measured by a pressure gauge. In the hollow-shaped specimen an additional strain gauge is used to determine the strain that occurs during the rolling process. The goal is to be able to know the ability of the bending roll tool and see the phenomena that occur in the specimen during rolling and the results of the three methods are compared. The simulation results form a 153 mm radius and a voltage of 789.39 MPa for the 5 mm plate. The experimental results obtained a radius of 145 mm arch for 5 mm thick plates and bending stress that occurs 785.25 MPa. On the maximum torque shaft 622.27 kg.mm the allowable stress is 32 kg / mm2, the maximum voltage is 28.95 kg / mm2, and the maximum force acceptable to the main shaft is 126,669 N and 79,388 N for the lower shaft. The percentage difference in measurements that occurred was 4.58% in the simulation and experimental measurements in stages, and the smallest measurement difference in direct loading was 0.26%. The results of hollow specimens are the largest measurement difference of 3% and the smallest of 0.42%.
