Sulfonasi Magnetic Carbon Nanosphere (Hso3-Cnss@Fe3o4) Dari Madu Sebagai Katalis Pada Sintesis Biodiesel
Biodiesel is one of the alternative fuel substitute environmentally friendly solar. The use of biodiesel as fuel for diesel engines can lower emissions compared to petroleum diesel. Total petroleum reserves are declining causes high world oil prices, to address this then required the development of renewable alternative energy derived from vegetable oils, biodiesel that is one of them. Catalysts is commonly used in the manufacture of biodiesel is strong base catalysts which is difficult to separate from the product. it is necessary to develop catalyst technology in order to get the production process becomes more economical, applicable and environmentally friendly, one of the catalyst is carbon nanosphere. Carbon nanosphere are synthesized by reacting honey with ferro as a magnetic property and ammonia under hydrothermal conditions which is then sulfonated with sulfuric acid. Carbon nanosphere has surface area 187.043 m2/g. The process of making biodiesel is made through one stage of esterification and Transesterification was conducted simultaneously, mole ratio of methanol:oil variation (1:3, 1:6, 1:9 and 1:12) catalyst weight variation 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2%, weight 50 grams CPO and stirring speed 400 rpm is inserted into the reactor for transesterification reaction lasts for 90 minutes at a temperature of 60°c. This research resulted in the largest biodiesel yield on mole ratio 1:9 with a weight of catalyst 1% of 95.26%, with density 876 kg/m3, viscosity 2.64 mm2/s, acid number of 0.39 mg-KOH/g biodiesel and the flash point 138°C comply with the SNI standards (SNI 7182: 2015).
