ABSTRACT
Bath soap is one product that is quite important in human life. Bath soap products have
depeloved into primary needs in all walks of life. Bath soap can used to treat diseases, such as
treating skin diseases caused by bacteria and fungi. The addition of natural ingredients that
are safe for health in liquid soap needs to be developed. This is intended to provide added
value to the resukting liquid soap products. One of the natural ingredients added in the
manufacture of liquid bath soap is fat or oil obtained from vegetable and animkmal
ingredients. The oil used in this study is vegetable oil, namely coconut oil and olive oil. This
study aims to determine the formulation of liquid bath soap based on coconut oil ad olive oil
with various concentrations is expected to raw materilas of coconut oil and olive oil and
KOH as reageant solutions with variations of 6.6%, 7.5%,8.5% and varying the ratio of
coconut oil and olive oil 1:0, 1:1, 2:1 with a hating temperature 70 oC. The obtained soap
paste is thawed by taking 5 grams of soap paste and mixed with 50 ml of distilled water at 40
oC until the soap paste is runny. The liquid soap produced is tested such as pH, free alkali
content, specific gravity based on SNI testing of liquid bath soap. The best liquid soap is the
use of 6,5% KOH with a ratio of coconut oil and olive oil 2:1 where the pH value of 9, free
alkali 0,03% and specific gravity 1.
