Proses Konversi Tandan Kosong Kelapa Sawit (Tks) Dan Limbah Plastik Polypropylene (Pp) Menjadi Bio-Oil Menggunakan Metode Copyrolysis
Consumption of fuel both gasoline and diesel oil is increasing. Declining in
production of national petroleum production make the need of alternative fuels as
a substitute for petroleum-based energy supply. Bio-oil is an environmentally fuel
that can be use as alternative fuel. In this study palm oil empty fruit bunches and
polypropylene plastic waste were used to produced bio-oil. The purpose of this
study is to determine the effect of ratio of palm oil empty fruit bunches and
polypropylene to bio-oil yield, the effect of co-pyrolysis temperatures to bio-oil
yield and to determine the characteristics of the bio-oil obtained. In this study the
variables used were ratio of palm oil empty fruit bunches to polypropylene of
100:0, 80:20, 70:30 and 60:40 and temperatures of 400 °C, 450 °C, 500 °C, and
550 °C. The result showed that the maximum yield obtained at ratio 80:20 of
temperature 450 °C which was 41,6%. Characterization of the bio-oil obtained
were density of 0.891 g/ml, kinematic viscosity of 4.18 cSt, pH of 3.38 and
calorific value is 43.2 MJ/kg. The result obtained is in the standar of fuel oil and
bio-oil.
