Aktivitas Fotokatalis Nanopartikel Perak Yang Disintesis Menggunakan Ekstrak Kulit Citrullus Lanatus
ABSTRACT
This study reviews how much silver (Ag) resulting from extraction of silver nitrate
(AgNO3) using yellow watermelon rind (citrullus lanatus). The purpose of the
research is to determine the ability of nanoparticle (Ag) photo catalysts with
different volume comparisons based on silver nitrate (AgNO3). Silver nitrate was
extracted using the fruit peel of citrullus lanatus, where citrullus lanatus was
washed and separated from the flesh and then blended, 100 gr of rind pulp
filtered using Whatman paper No. 1 to obtain a dark green solution, after that
citrullus lanatus rind extract solution given DM 400 ml aqua and AgNO3 0.1699
gr in 400 ml aqua DM. Silver solution and fruit peel extract solution were then
synthesized in a volume ratio of 1: 3, 2: 2, and 3: 1 and used NaOH to increase
the pH of the solution to 10 measured using indicator paper. The results showed
that the sample colloids were yellow-brownish in color. This proves that Ag
nanoparticles have been formed. The UV-Vis results show that the sample
absorption spectrum is Ag 1: 3 with absorption peaks at 430 nm and narrow
absorption peaks indicating particle size that is much smaller than that of Ag 2: 2
and sample 3: 1. The ability of the photo catalyst to release degradation of
methylene blue within 30 minutes, 90 minutes, and 150 minutes using UV-Vis and
TEM. The UV-Vis and TEM results show that the Ag 1: 3 sample is the most
effective with a reaction rate of 5.5. 10-5 s-1 and particle size in the interval of 6-
48 nm.
