Rasionalitas Penggunaan Obat Penghambat Sekresi Asam Lambung Pada Pasien Geriatri Di Bangsal Penyakit Dalam Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Tahun 2019

Geriatric patients has special characteristics such as multipatology, the symptoms and sign of disease not typical, and physiology of body’s decrease including changes in integrity of gastric mucosa. Caused to greater risk of damage to gastric mucosa in the geriatrics. Beside that there are also changes of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamisc, if there are a decrease of kidney function and can be done medicine dosage adjustment. The purpose of the study is to know the rasionality use of gastric acid secretion inhibitors drug of geriatric patient in the internal medicine’s ward in Arifin Achmad Regional Hospital of Riau Province periode 2019. The study is retrospective description design with the secondary of data used medical record. The sample used 116 samples with the total sampling method. The profil of geriatric patient treated in the internal medicine’s ward showing the male patient more than female patient. The largest age group of geriatric patient is 60-74 years (83,1%). There are 64,9% of the geriatric patient that used gastric acid secretion inihibitors drug. From 116 geriatric patient there are 132 used of gastric acid secretion inhibitors drug, with proton pump inhibitor group (78,0%) more than H2-Blocker. Based on indication, kind/selection, and dosage in a row are 88,6%, 54,6%, and 85,6% the used gastric acid secretion inhibitors drug with reference based on Drug Information Handbook, Geriatric Dosage Handbook, A Practical Manual of Renal Medicine, Medscape, and Farmacology FKUI. Based on the result, the used of gastric acid secretion inhibitors drug the indication and dosage the most rational, while base on the kind/selection still less rational.
