Hubungan Status Gizi Dan Siklus Menstruasi Dengan Kejadian Anemia Pada Remaja Putri Di Panti Asuhan
Anemia is a health problem in the world, especially in developing countries. Anemia is a condition when hemoglobin (Hb) level in the blood is lower than normal to keep physiological needs based on age, gender, pregnancy status and lifestyle. Female adolescents have a risk of ten time greater then their male adolescent counterpart. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between nutritional status and menstruation cycle with the incident of anemia on female adolescent living in orphanage. Body mass index (BMI) and serum hemoglobin (Hb) determination measurements were performed on the subject, data were collected using a questionnaire to determine menstruation cycle. This study was an analytic with cross-sectional design. The subjects of this study were 25 female adolescents of orphanage that fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Analysis using Fischer exact test showed no significant relationship between nutritional status with the incident of anemia on female adolescent living in orphanage (p= 0,765) and no significant relationship between menstruation cycle with the incident of anemia on female adolescent living in orphanage (p=0,78).
