Penggunaan Metode 3d Laser Scanner Dan Metode Aturan Simpson Untuk Menentukan Volume Buah Kiwi
Volume is one of important quantities to determine fruit quality through a sorting process based on fruit size. Imaging method is a non-destructive method that can be used to determine the volume of fruits. 3D laser scanning method and Simpson’s rule method are two types of imaging methods that is used to determine the volume of kiwifruit in this research. This study aims to compare the result of volume measurements of kiwifruit using two imaging methods and the conventional method (water displacement method). The samples used were 20 green kiwifruit (Actinidia deliciosa). Determining the volume of kiwifruit using the 3D laser scanning method was done by scanning the surface of the fruit to obtain point clouds data and converted to volume using software called matplotlib python library. Determination of volume using Simpson’s rule method was done by partisioning the image into 8 parts. Then, the volume of each image part was calculated using Simpson’s 1/3 method based on integration concept of rotated object. Difference percentage of kiwi fruit volume determined by 3D laser scanning method and water displacement method is 3,64% while for Simpson’s rule method is 4,57% respectively.
