Efek Inhibitor Proteasom Terhadap Gambaran Histopatologi Arteri Koronaria Pada Tikus Model Aterosklerosis
Proteasomes are enzyme complexes for protein degradation in addition to lysosomes with the involvement of the ubiquitin-proteasome (UPS) system. Previous studies about the involvement of UPS in the stages of the atherosclerotic process have had an effect on atherosclerotic lesions. This study analyze the effects of proteasome inhibitors (bortezomib) on atherosclerotic lesions in rat coronary arteries atherosclerosis. This research used experiment study with 15 rats (Rattus novergicus) of male Wistar strains which are divided into control groups (I), atherosclerosis (II) group, and atherosclerosis group with bortezomib (III). The administration of the lower doses of bortezomib (50 μg/kgBB) is twice the administration, i.e. in the 1st and 3rd day of Intraperitoneal. Data obtained from atherosclerotic lesion scores were assessed by coronary artery histopathology in the treatment group. The results showed the highest lesion score in the atherosclerosis model group (0.88) and the decrease in the average score of the lesion group given bortezomib with the atherosclerosis model group (0.70 versus 0.44, p
