Hubungan Antara Kepatuhan Minum Obat Antiepilepsi Dengan Bangkitan Epilepsi Di Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau
Epilepsy is a disease which needs long-term treatment. Adherence to taking antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) is one of the factors to make the treatment for epilepsy successful. This research aimed to find out the relationship between adherence of taking antiepileptic drugs with epilepsy seizures. This research was observational analytic and the approach used was the cross-sectional approach. Samples of this research were taken through the consecutive sampling method. The data of this research consisted of the primary data taken from questionnaires and the secondary data taken from medical records. The level of adherence of taking antiepileptic drugs was measured by using Morisky Medication Adherence Scale-8 (MMAS-8) questionnaire. The result showed that of the 44 respondents, it was found that the highest level of adherence to taking antiepileptic drugs was moderate at 50.0%, followed by high rate at 40.9%, and low rate at 9.1%. In addition, the Likelihood Ratio test given to the respondents revealed that there was no significant relationship between adherence of taking antiepileptic drugs and the epilepsy seizure (p=0.06).
