Studi Penggunaan Karbamazepin Pada Penyandang Epilepsi Di Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau
Epilepsy is a chronic neurological disease that is characterized by a minimum of two seizures without provocation with a time interval between seizures more than 24 hours, already affecting about 50 million people in the world. This study aims to determine the use of carbamazepine in people with epilepsy in Arifin Achmad Regional Hospital in Riau Province. The research method used was descriptive observational using primary data from interviews with epilepsy or family with research instrument guidelines and secondary data from medical records and prescription sheets. Based on research that has been done, there were 13 subjects with epilepsy. Most subjects were 26-35 years old (53.8%), female (69.2%), subjects with general seizure type (61.5%) and duration of diagnosis of epilepsy >2 years (92.3%). The use of carbamazepine in all subjects was a dose of 200 mg (100%), the frequency of administration of two and three times a day was the same amount (46.15%), the longest use of carbamazepine was >2 years (92.3%), the most type of therapy was a combination of three antiepileptic drugs ( 69.2%) and the pattern of therapy for all subjects was constant (100%).
