Randai Kuantan Singingi art is Randai art which is the result of collaboration from Randai art that is brought by Minangkabau migrants to the Kuantan Singingi area. The development of randai kuantan can be seen from various aspects, such as songs, dances, story themes, clothing, staging venues, and also the involvement of women in randai activities. The research aims to analyze and understand the patterns and ways of communication as well as the symbolic meaning of ethnography in Randai Kuantan art performances in Riau Province.
The method used is qualitative research that uses a natural setting, with the intention of interpreting the phenomena that occur. Research informants numbered 10 (ten) people with data collection techniques using interviews, observation with documentary evidence or other opinions.
Overall, the results of the study explained that communication patterns in the Randai Kuantan art performance in Riau Province can be seen from the Randai show which has unitary or integrated parts of various aspects of art in one Randai performance art package. These forms include literature or story (kaba), dance or dancing, music, acting and comedy or humor. In principle, seen from the elements of art and communication patterns in Randai Kuantan has several parts in the presentation. While the ethnographic symbolic meaning contained in the Kuantan Singgingi community of Riau Province in the Randai Kuantan art performance, Riau Province can be seen from the text of the randai story, which contains many local wisdom values and teaches certain methods, methods or methods to gain knowledge or the truth about community life events some local cultural values that can be concluded in this study such as religious values, democratic values, the value of the right to freedom of life and the right to defend themselves, as well as the value of solidarity and social values.
