The teacher has a very important role in the learning process, because the teacher has a role as an educator, model, teacher, and guide. In the world of education, customer satisfaction and expectations can be seen from the education customers themselves. If what is expected by education customers such as school principals, teachers, students, parents, and so on, they will be satisfied. The professional attitude of teachers and the appearance of teachers in carrying out work as a profession refers to the commitment of professional members to work in accordance with the code of ethics, which is a reflection of teacher professionalism.
Teacher competence in educating can be defined as teachers who have knowledge in educating, have expertise in educating, and have a personality as an educator. This means that teachers are not only knowledgeable and skilled, teachers are also required to have educational characteristics or good examples (role models) for students. This also applies to other competencies. To solve the problem of education quality, firstly done to improve the quality of teachers. One of the ways to improve the quality of teachers is by increasing the professionalism of teachers both in character and competence. Improvements in the quality of teachers are carried out by the school considering the rapid development of information and technology at this time, thus causing the higher professionalism of teachers needed.
On the other hand, for these demands teachers also hope to have a good career development in the future in order to improve their standard of living. Great opportunities for teachers to develop or improve their career paths as teachers, so that they get better results (wages) as expected. Great opportunities with certain expectations raise expectations in teachers. Teachers' expectation for their career is one thing that cannot be denied. Every expectation contains motivation to make it happen, the phenomenon that there is a teacher who has motivation to improve his career, but it is not followed by the professionalism of his teacher.
Senior High Schools (SMA) make every effort to improve the quality of education which is first carried out to improve the quality of their teachers. One of the ways to improve the quality of teachers is to increase the professionalism of teachers both in character and competence. The career development opportunities provided by the government for teachers with coaching and teacher education aim to improve teacher professionals.
The results of observations made at SMAN Kecamatan Tapung in September 2019 found several phenomena related to teacher professionalism, including not all teachers have good teaching competence, seen from the lack of students' ability to understand subject matter, there are still teachers who only provide education but do not provide good examples. good for students, most teachers lack the competence to evaluate students properly based on the applicable curriculum.
In connection with this research, the following questions can be used as a reference in formulating the problem of career expectations in an effort to achieve a professional attitude for teacher teachers, namely 1) What are the

career expectations of SMAN teachers in an effort to create a professional attitude for teachers, 2) What are the obstacles to the career expectations of SMAN teachers in achieving teacher professional attitude. This study generally aims to analyze the career expectations and career expectation barriers of SMAN teachers in an effort to create a professional attitude towards teachers in the District of Tapung. The research was conducted at SMAN, Tapung Subdistrict, Kampar Regency, with 17 respondents as SMAN teachers. Data collection was carried out by means of observation, interviews and field notes. The study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive approach which was carried out in four stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and data verification.
The results showed that the career development expectations of SMAN teachers in Tambang District were divided into two, from an internal and external perspective. In terms of internally, it is known that influencing teacher career expectations is teacher competence, teacher awareness and interest. Meanwhile, from the external perspective, it is known that those affecting teacher career expectations are institutional policies, support for facilities and infrastructure as well as rewards or salaries. There are still many obstacles or obstacles that come with the expectation of teacher career development that come from internal and external. Internal obstacles consist of competence, limited time and difficulties in data processing. Meanwhile, external barriers consist of limited information, non-functioning teacher working group activities and support from the school, both from the principal and from peers.
