ASRIL DARMA, NIM. 1810246466. UTILIZATION OF CYBER PUBLIC RELATIONS FOR GOVERNMENT COMMUNICATION BY THE GOVERNMENT OF RIAU PROVINCIAL IN THE DISRUPTIVE ERA, guided by Suyanto and Muchid.
The title of this research is Utilization of Cyber Public Relations for Government Communication by the Government of Riau Provincial in the Disruptive Era. This research is motivated by the phenomenon of the use of cyber media and social media by the Riau Provincial Government as a channel for communicating with the public (Cyber Public Relations). However, the implementation of Cyber Public Relations has not been maximal.
This research uses descriptive qualitative method with the researcher as the main instrument of research. The method of data collection is done through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis uses data analysis techniques in the field model of Miles and Huberman.
The results of the study indicate the purpose of the Provincial Government to utilize Cyber Public Relations for Government Communication, namely to (a) Carry Out the Mandate of Law 14/2008 on Public Information Openness (KIP), (b) Synergy of Information of the Riau Provincial Government with Regencies / Cities and National, (c ) Expanding Development Access to the Community, (d) Increasing Community Participation and (e) Cutting the Information Bureaucracy.
The use of Cyber Public Relations turned out to be quite useful in conveying the Communication of the Government of the Riau Province Government to the public. Among these; (a) the community gets actual information, quickly with wide reach, (b) restores public trust, (c) means of communication during disasters (d) is economical and, (e) interactive and responds quickly.
Based on the analysis of Grunig and Hunt's Model Public Relations (PR) communication model, Government Communication through Cyber Public Relations by the Riau Provincial Government is still dominant in one direction. Another problem is that there are no staff and sections that specifically handle social media channels.
