Fostering teacher work motivation requires healthy working conditions. The expected condition can be felt if the needs of the workers can be met. Because humans work not only to earn money, high wages, it is not always a factor in the growth of work motivation in achieving productivity, but also to fulfill their psychological and social needs, namely the need to get attention to their human aspects. Work motivation can be influenced by several factors, namely work environment factors and interpersonal relationship factors.
Based on the results of observations to schools in the Cendana Education Foundation and interviews with several elements of school unit leaders and teachers, in January 2020 related to the work motivation of teachers in the Cendana Education Foundation, it was found that teacher work motivation was still not optimal or still low. , whereas in general, schools within the Riau Cendana Education Foundation have infrastructure and learning facilities that still meet educational standards such as study rooms, study equipment and other supporting facilities and have a work environment that is adequate for education such as security, comfort and distance. from the crowd and relatively good interpersonal relationships. However, this has not been able to fully increase the work motivation of teachers and employees of the Riau Cendana Education Foundation.
The success of a teacher in implementing learning cannot be separated from the infrastructure and a conducive work environment. Therefore, every teacher needs strong motivation to be willing to carry out learning in a passionate, passionate and dedicated manner so that it can meet the expected quality. There are several factors that influence motivation, including mental attitude, education, skills, leadership, income levels, compensation, communication, infrastructure, opportunities for achievement. In the work environment, it does not only pay attention to the physical environment, but the non-physical work environment is one of the important things in increasing the effectiveness of teacher work. Because the physical work environment and non-physical work environment can affect the physical and psychological work of teachers.
Based on the above introduction, several problem formulations can be formulated in this study as follows: (1) How big is the contribution of school infrastructure and non-physical work environment to the work motivation of teachers at the Cendana Riau Education Foundation School? ... (2) How big is the contribution school facilities and infrastructure towards the work motivation of teachers at the Riau Cendana Education Foundation School? ... (3) How much does the non-physical work environment contribute to the work motivation of teachers at the Cendana Riau Education Foundation School? ...
This study aims to analyze the contribution of the independent variable to the dependent variable between infrastructure and non-physical work environment on teacher motivation at the Cendana Education Foundation School. This type of research is quantitative with the causal associative method. Data collection using a questionnaire. The population used in this study were 68 teachers and all of them were examined as respondents (census). The data analysis technique used in this research was descriptive and quantitative analysis (multiple linear regression) by performing the classical assumption test first.
The results showed that through the coefficient of determination (R2) it was known that the variables in infrastructure and non-physical work environments were able to explain the contribution to the teacher work motivation variable by 69.1%. While the remaining 30.9%, influenced by other variables outside of this study. For an R value of 0.831, it can be interpreted that the correlation coefficient between variables in school infrastructure and non-physical work environments on teacher work motivation is very strong. Meanwhile, infrastructure partially contributes to the work motivation of teachers with a Beta coefficient (standardized coefficient) of 0.524 and an effect test of 0.274. This means that there is a partial contribution of infrastructure to the work motivation of teachers at the Cendana Riau Education Foundation School of 27.4%. The non-physical work environment partially contributes to the work motivation of teachers with the Beta coefficient (standardized coefficient) of 0.425 and the impact test of 0.181. This means that there is a partial contribution of infrastructure to the work motivation of teachers at the Cendana Riau Education Foundation School of 18.1%.
