Manajemen Pengembangan Digital Library Smk Labor Binaan Fkip Unri Pekanbaru Provinsi Riau

Digital library is a concept that has recently been increasingly developed in the world of libraries. Digital library can be said to be a new format in the library world that is able to provide convenience in managing data, storing and providing information to users more quickly. SMK Labor Binaan FKIP UNRI Pekanbaru is a private school in Pekanbaru that realizes the importance of libraries as the main support for the learning process. For this reason, SMK Labor Binaan FKIP UNRI Pekanbaru has slowly and consistently started to improve and improve the quality of libraries, one of which is by changing the library management which was previously conventional to become a digital library. The efforts made by SMK Labor Binaan FKIP UNRI Pekanbaru have produced extraordinary results, where they have won 1st place in the National level school library competition in 2019.
This success reflects the existence of best practices or best practices in terms of digital library development. This research intends to reveal how the SMK Labor Binaan FKIP UNRI Pekanbaru achieved these extraordinary digital library development achievements from a management perspective. In addition, this research also intends to reveal what impacts or benefits are felt most by school residents, especially students and teachers.
Based on the results of research and data analysis, it can be concluded that in implementing digital library development, SMK Labor has taken steps to develop a digital library very well. At the planning stage, there are several steps taken, namely needs analysis, goal setting, feasibility study, and software selection. At the implementation stage, SMK Labor's digital library has carried out several things, including establishing a database, procuring digital collections and making several innovation programs such as digital ecoliteration, gobooks, online radio, digital cultural literacy, memorabilia, digital learning resources, and others. In maintaining and improving the quality of the digital library, the principal together with all stakeholders apply the principles of Total Quality Management (TQM) and carry out benchmarking activities to some of the best school libraries in Yogyakarta.
There are several impacts felt by students and teachers with the development of this digital library, including increasing reading motivation, increasing speed, speed of access, facilities, saving time and cost-saving.
