Perancangan Dan Pembuatan Blood Carrier Box Dengan Thermoelectric Cooler Kapasitas 2,45 Liter
ABSTRACT
Based on WHO Standards, Indonesia has not sufficient blood supply to a minimum
of 258 million people owned. So, when needing certain types of blood that are
available outside the area must go through the process of blood distribution.
During this time, the distribution only uses ice packs in maintaining blood
temperature. The use of ice packs in the distribution process is very risky because
ice packs are fast looking so that the temperature in the blood is feared to be more
than the stipulation. Therefore, the design and manufacture of blood carrier boxes
with cooling components of thermoelectric cooler are intended to overcome the
problem of blood distribution by being able to maintain blood temperature in range
of 2-10oC. The design and manufacture of blood carrier box result dimension box
30.6 cm x 25.6 cm x 16.3 cm. After 2 hours performance test at an ambient
temperature 33oC, the results are obtained that the blood carrier box can maintain
blood temperature at 3oC after 5 minutes inserted. From this performance, the COP
value of the thermoelectric cooler reached 0.14.
