Economic growth is an effort to increase production capacity to achieve additional
output and is a very important indicator in assessing the performance of an economy. Bengkalis
Regency - Riau Province is a fast developing area where in recent years there has been an
increase in population (human capital), fluctuations in the workforce, and a high dependency
ratio. This study aims to determine how the influence of population (human capital), labor and
dependency ratio (dependency ratio) to economic growth in Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province.
The data used in this study is data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (CSA) of
Bengkalis Regency and the Central Statistics Agency (CSA) of Riau Province. By using multiple
linear regression analysis methods, which are assisted by an analysis tool, namely the SPSS
version 22 program. The independent variables in this study are the Dependency Ratio and
Human Capital, while the dependent variable in this study is Economic Growth.
From the results of research that has been conducted with a confidence level of 95% or
ɑ = 5%. Through a partial regression test (t test) shows that the Dependency Ratio (DR)
variable has a partially negative effect on economic growth, while the Human Capital (HC)
implemented by the Average School Length (RLS) shows that the Average School Length
Duration (RLS) has a partially positive effect on economic growth and Life Expectancy (AHH)
shows that Life Expectancy (AHH) has a positive effect on economic growth. The most dominant
variable in influencing economic growth in Bengkalis Regency is the Human Capital variable

the significance value of the Average Length of Schooling (RLS) which is greater than the
magnitude of the significance value of Life Expectancy (AHH).
