Abstract
Both lake of Lubuk Siam and Pinang Dalam are one of the lakes with
semi-closed characteristics that are habitat for Selais fish (Kryptopterus lais) and
Baung fish (Hemibagrus Nemurus). Both types of fish are of high economic
value. The purpose of this study was to look at the heavy metal content in water,
sediments, and fish organs (gills, muscles, and bones) of both types of fish. This
research uses survey method. Samples collected from two oxbow lakes. The
weight metal content of Pb and Zn were measured using a Shimadzu AA-7000
type flame spectrophotometer (AAS). Results of the study showed that in the
water and sediment media the log content of Zn > Pb, where the concentration of
Heavy Metal Pb was above the threshold of quality standards except for heavy
metal Zn. The order of heavy metal content in fish organs is as follows: in baung
fish (Zn : gills> bones> muscles). (Pb heavy metal content shows the gills>
muscles> bones). Then in Selais fish the content of heavy metal (Zn shows gill
organ> bone> muscle, medium and Pb heavy metal in muscle organ> gill> bone).
The concentration of heavy metals in each of these organs are still below the
quality book and is suitable for consumption.
