Aspek Sosial Ekonomi Dalam Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Petani Di Sekitar Kawasan Pt. Ikpp Tbk. Perawang, Kecamatan Tualang, Kabupaten Siak

The existence of industry is one of the factor that influence on regional development
in terms of economic, social, facilities and infrastructure as well as physical
(environmental) areas. The existence of industry must be in line with the existence of
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which is a commitment by the business world to
act ethically and contribute to the economic development of the local community, along
with improving the standard of living. In Tualang District, there is a large-scale industry,
namely PT. Indah Kiat Pulp and Paper (PT. IKPP). Through CSR, the company implements
a farmer empowerment program around the PT. IKPP by utilizing undeveloped land.
This research is a qualitative inductive research, conducted by means of field
observations through a grand tour and mini tour. The unit of observation in this research
is the community around PT. IKPP Perawang, both those who have occupied the
undeveloped land owned by PT. IKPP to be used as agricultural land and for people who
have not yet occupied the land.
The results of this study indicate that there are social and economic aspects that
arise after the implementation of the farmer empowerment program. This research resulted
in 4 (four) undeveloped land use concepts. PT. IKPP conducts farmer empowerment
programs from social and economic aspects. The concepts are Land Use through
Productivity, Sustainability of Farmers in Forming Economic Aspects, Dualism of Farmer
Group, and Soft Skills to Change Farmers Social Behavior.
