Customs Communication Management in handling the flow of goods across borders is very important to be investigated because Customs is one of the Government Organizations that is very vital in the State Tax Revenue, if Communication from Customs is bad it will also be bad the Government's image in the eyes of the Community, therefore this research very important to do, one of the important reasons is to find out how Customs in reducing smuggling using the Communication Management method because as we know good communication will also have a good impact on the performance of an organization. In carrying out this conflict management, the problem taken is the cross-border smuggling of goods by entrepreneurs, because smuggling is the most important problem in the realm of Customs. This study aims to find out how the management of customs and excise communication in handling the flow of goods across borders in the Meranti islands district
This study used qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques are grouped into three parts, namely: Observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis techniques in this study use the collection of data as mentioned above, namely the data that is thought to be necessary to support in conducting research and checking the validity of the data using the technique of extending participation and triangulation.
The results obtained in the Communication Management by Customs in Dealing with Cross-Border Goods Flow in Meranti Islands Regency are 1. The communicator characteristic is the head of Customs because he is the person who has the highest position in Customs, 2. The conveyed Pean is not to do smuggling, 3. Communication channels used are interpersonal communication channels and mass media channels, 4. Effects obtained from communicants are positive and negative effects, 5. Feedback received is good and bad feedback, 6. Controlling is carried out by the customs chief excise tax is supervising staff in communicating and working with other parties to commit to eradicating smuggling.
