ABSTRACT
This study aims to find empirical evidence of the factors that influence family
ownership structure, institutional ownership and financial performance on the
prediction of financial distress. The population of this research is food and
beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) for the period
2014-2018. The population of this study were 25 companies with the criteria for
selecting samples using purposive sampling method so that 19 food and beverage
companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) were selected for the
2014-2018 period. To examine the factors that contribute to family ownership
structure, institutional ownership and financial performance, this study uses
logistic regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that financial
performance has a negative and significant effect on the prediction of financial
distress. Meanwhile, family ownership structure has no significant effect on
prediction of financial distress and institutional ownership does not have a
significant effect on prediction of financial distress.
