ABSTRACT
Broiler chickens will grow optimally if supported by appropriate
environmental factors. one of the influencing factors is a comfortable ambient
temperature. This temperature can be met by providing a heating device, on the
other hand, the use of a heating device will increase the operational costs of
maintenance. The purpose of this final project is to obtain a heating device that
can meet the needs of a comfortable cage temperature and save fuel consumption,
because it can be a more efficient innovation with an economical price and can
reuse waste into useful materials. As for the components made for broiler heating
devices using used oil are the frame, heating furnace, furnace base plate, blower
base plate, oil tank base plate, and blower channel. the dimensions of the heating
furnace used are 190 mm in diameter with a thickness of 5 mm. The furnace base
plate, blower base plate, and oil tank base plate used are 300 mm long and 300
mm wide with a thickness of 5 mm. The blower channel used is 51 mm in
diameter. conch blower used 2 inches with a power of 150 w. The expected result
from this research is that a heating device with good performance and fuel
efficiency can be created in its use. Based on the test results, it shows that this
heating device can save used fuel oil consumption compared to other types of
heating devices.
