Pengujian Formulasi Kapur, Tawas Dan Pac (Poly Aluminium Chloride) Untuk Meningkatkan Kualitas Air Gambut Kabupaten Bengkalis, Siak Dan Kampar
Abstract
Riau Province has abundant of peat water resources that are potential for
aquaculture activities. The quality of the peat water, however is relatively low as it
is dark brown colored, low pH, high organic matter, low concentration of
suspended particles and low cation content. A study aims to determine the best
formulation of lime, alum and PAC (Poly Aluminium Chloride) combination to
improve the quality of peat water has been conducted in March-April 2020. The
formulations applied ware as follows: (1) 1.45 g Lime and 1.7 g Alum (LA),
(2) 0.5 g Lime and 0.7 g PAC (LPAC) and (3) 0.5 g lime, 0.34 g alum and 0.56 g
PAC (LAPAC). The peat water were obtained from Bengkalis, Siak and Kampar.
Results shown that all treatments applied provides positive results in improving
the peat water quality. The pH increased to 7.37 to 8.87, color reduced to 14.95 to
58.43 TCU, organic matter reduced to 59.81 to 61.05 mg / L, turbidity reduced to
0.07 to 0.49 NTU, and TDS increased to 418.67 to 792.67 mg / L. Based on the
data obtained, it is concluded that the combination of 0.5 g lime and 0.7 g PAC
was the most effective to improve the peat water quality.
