Gambaran Profil Penyandang Epilepsi Di Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau

Epilepsy is a neurological disorder which find all over the world. It is
characterized by a recurrent seizures, short episode, and involuntary movement
which involve part of the body (partial) or whole body (general). The purposes of
this research was to find out the description of the profile epilepsy patient at
Arifin Achmad General Hospital Of Riau Province. The design of this research
was a observational descriptive with purposive sampling method. The resourch
was done during one month at February-March periode with sampel total was 56
people. The source of research data was from research instrument as primary
data and secondary data was from medical records and prescription sheets. The
result from this research of 56 research which most age distribution was 26-35
years old (37,5%), female gender (31%), general seizures (64,3%), duration of
diagnosed ≥2 years (92,9%), seizures frequency ≥4 times (57,1%), most common
antiepileptic drug was phenytoin (29,37%) and use of polytherapy whis consist
with 3 type of antiepileptic drug (48,2%). The most common originerator factor
was stress (30,14%) and the most common risk factor was injury or head
collision’s history (55,4%).
