Infestasi Soil Transmitted Helminths Dan Faktor Risiko Pada Anak Sdn 008 Sei Petai, Kabupaten Kampar, Provinsi Riau Tahun 2020
Soil transmitted helminths (STH) is intestinal nematode which need soil as
the media for the development of infective form. The main species that infect
humans are the Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichuira, and hookworms
(Ancylostoma duodenale and Necator americanus). Survey by Riau Provincial
Health Office at 30 primary schools at Kampar regency in 2014 found that
prevalence of worm infestations were 12,66% and SDN 008 Sei Petai has the
highest result with 40% prevalence. The study aims to determine the description
of Soil transmitted helminths infestation and risk factors in students at SDN 008
Sei Petai, Kampar regency, Riau Province. This study was an analytical study
with a cross sectional design and accedantal sampling method with 67
respondents. The data used in this study are the microscopic examination of the
stool with three repetitions and risk factor questionnaire. Total male are 35
respondents that equal to 52,24% while total of female are 32 respondents that
equal to 47,76%, with the age range mostly 9-10 years (65.68%). From
microscopic examination, positive helminths egg result were not found (0). Risk
factor analysis show most respondents have good interpretation in drinking water
(100%), defecating habits (89,56%), footwear habits (83,59%), fingernails
hygiene (65,67%), the habit of processing vegetables (71,64%) and only in hand
washing show most the bad habit (53,73%). The correlation between STH
infestation and risk factor could not be analyzed.
