Gambaran Infeksi Bakteri Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (Mrsa) Di Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Tahun 2015 - 2019
Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is the most important
pathogen causing the hospital-associated infections in the world. This study aims
to figure out the MRSA infection in Arifin Achmad General Hospital, Riau Province,
Indonesia. This was a retrospective study using medical records data of patients
who received treatments at Arifin Achmad General Hospital in 2015-2019 with
MRSA as samples. Overall, there were 600 isolates of Staphylococcus aureus. The
prevalence of MRSA ranging from 23.8% - 42.7%. The highest prevalence came
from the surgical room (44.8%). MRSA cases were mostly found in pus (66.5%).
The most sensitive antibiotics obtained are vancomycin, tigecyclin, and linezolid.
MRSA was commonly found in patients with skin and soft tissue diseases. Patients
characteristics were mostly men (51.2%), age 46-55 years (27.9%), length of
treatment 7-13 days (26.7%), onset >2 days (54.7%), no history of surgery (51.2%)
and not transferred from another hospital (81.4%). The conclusion of this study
illustrated that the prevalence of MRSA in Arifin Achmad Hospital varies each year
with an average of 32.8% and that the patients were mostly male, aged 46-55 years,
with an onset of more than 2 days, had no history of surgery and not transferred
from another hospital.
