Perbedaan Dimensi Ukuran Tulang Phalanx Jari Tangan Terhadap Jenis Kelamin Pada Ras Mongoloid Usia 18 – 45 Tahun Di Provinsi Riau
Gender is one of the data needed in the process of forensic identification of
corpses that are difficult to recognize in incomplete conditions in cases of
accidents, killings, and natural disasters. Gender can be determined by the long
bones of the body, one of which is the phalanx of the finger. This research was
conducted on 271 respondents (135 men and 136 women) in several places in
Riau Province with an age range of 18 - 45 years. Dimensions of the size of the
phalanx of the fingers of the hand and gender were measured to see the
differences in the phalanx bones in each male and female. . There are 6
dimensions of the size of the phalanx bone measured on the fingers of the left and
right hand. The study design was cross sectional. The statistical test used was an
independent sample t-test to see the statistical differences in the dimensions of the
size of the phalanx of the fingers and gender. There was a significant difference in
the dimensions of the proximal phalanx of the fingers between men and women
(p> 0.05). There was a significant difference in the dimensions of the medial
phalanx of the fingers between men and women (p> 0.05). There was a significant
difference in the dimensions of the distal phalanx of the fingers between men and
women (p> 0.05).
