Hubungan Kadar Hba1c Dengan Fungsi Kognitif Pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 Peserta Prolanis Puskesmas Rejosari Pekanbaru
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by
hyperglycemia that occurs due to abnormalities insulin secretion, insulin action
or both. Hyperglycemic have a role in decrease cognitive function and changes in
brain structure. The purpose of this study was to determine the relation between
uncontrolled diabetes mellitus and cognitive function of type 2 diabetes mellitus
patients prolanist participants at Rejosari Public Health Center Pekanbaru. This
was an analytical study with a cross sectional approached. The sampling
technique was consecutive sampling method with 24 respondents. The primary
data was used to the form of laboratory tests of HbA1c levels and the MMSE
questionnaire was used to interviewed and measure the cognitive function. Fisher
Exact Test was used for the statistical test. The results of the study that were
obtained from 24 samples were about 7 people (29.2%) showed cognitive
dysfunction. There were no significant difference in the proportion between the
normal HbA1c level group and the high HbA1c level group against cognitive
function disorders (p = 0.191). There were no statistically significant relation
between HbA1c levels and cognitive impairment in patients with type 2 diabetes
mellitus.
