Gambaran Kepadatan Tulang Pada Pasien Asma Yang Memakai Kortikosteroid Inhalasi Jangka Lama
Asthma is the reversible obstruction of airway disease. One of the asthma
trigger is the inflammation of airways. It has been known widely that the anti
inflammatory drugs which are always used are in the corticosteroid type. Kinds
of inhaled corticosteroids are budesonide and fluticasone. But, if the
corticosteroids are consumed for the long term, it will cause the toxic effects for
the patients. One of the side effect is the reduction of bone mineral density. This
research purpose is to know the description of bone mineral density in asthma
patients who use the inhaled corticosteroid for the long term. This research
design is cross sectional descriptive with total sampling methode from the
secondary data of 22 subjects (15 males and 7 females). The result of this
research is there are normal bone mineral density (100%) of asthma patients who
use inhaled corticosteroids for the long term which have been measured by Dual
X-Ray Absorptiometry (DXA) with the male (15 persons) as the greatest number
of the sample (68,18%) and the most age range is around 45-54 years old
(54,54%) with the longest drug use > 6 months (100%). From this research can
be concluded that asthma patients who used inhaled corticosteroid for the long
term have normal bone mineral density.
