Pengaruh Sudut Chamfer Male-Female Terhadap Penentuan Pemberian Beban Forging Yang Tepat Pada Material Aluminium 6061 Las Gesek Rotari
ABSTRACT
The rotary friction welding method is a new method in the welding process. As with
welding in general, the welding process with the rotary friction welding method
uses friction energy that turns into heat to join two metals. This type of method has
a source of heat energy produced by the friction of the material being joined. Where
two metallic materials, whether similar or not, are given a mechanical force in the
form of a friction motion (which is accompanied by an emphasis). The existence of
an increase in temperature from this mutual rubbing motion can change the solid
phase of the metal into a transition phase. When the two metals being joined have
reached their melting point, the process of joining the two metals occurs. This
research discusses how the effect of male-female chamfer angle on forging
pressure, the effect of male-female chamfer angle on changes in specimen length,
and the maximum tensile strength in splicing 6061 aluminum material, namely by
varying the male-female chamfer angle, namely 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°. The conclusions
obtained are: (1) The time of applying forging pressure during the welding process
varies due to variations in the angle of the male-female chamfer on the friction
surface of the specimen. The longest application of forging pressure is at the male
female chamfer angle of 60 ° and the fastest application of forging pressure is the
male-female chamfer angle of 15 °. (2) The change in length of the specimen during
the welding process for each variation of the male-female chamfer angle varies
because the friction time is different, The largest change in length is at the malefemale
chamfer angle of 15 ° and the smallest change in length is at the male-female
chamfer angle of 60 °. (3) the maximum tensile strength results are obtained at the
variation of the male-female chamfer angle of 60 ° with a value of 226.47 MPa.
