Profil Pasien Efusi Pleura Yang Dirawat Inap Di Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Periode 1 Januari 2017 – 31 Desember 2019
Pleural effusion is a condition that often occurs in medical practice caused by
various underlying diseases. This condition is characterized by an abnormal
build-up of pleural fluid. The accumulation of pleural fluid can consists from
transudate, exudate, clear fluid or blood. The aim of this study was to obtain
profiles of pleural effusion patients that hospitalized at Arifin Achmad Regional
General Hospital of Riau in 1st of January 2017 – 31st of December 2019. This
was a retrospective descriptive study with a cross sectional approach. The data
were obtained from medical records. There were 147 subjects that consists of 78
male sex (53,1%) and frequently diagnosed in the 46-55 age group (23,8%). Most
of the patients was had the effusion at the right pleural cavity (50,3%) and the
most common etiology of the pleural effusion was infection (38,1%).
