Hubungan Derajat Keparahan Psoriasis Vulgaris Dengan Kualitas Hidup Pasien Di Poliklinik Kulit Dan Kelamin Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau
Psoriasis vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by the
presence of erythematous plaque, well-defined borders, covered with thick scaly
plaque, and silvery-white in color. Psoriasis impacts greatly on patient’s quality of
life, social-psychological status, and daily activities. This study aims to determine the
correlation between severity of psoriasis vulgaris and patient quality of life at Arifin
Achmad Hospital, Riau Province. This study was observational analytical with a
cross-sectional design and consecutive sampling method. The study found 30 patients
consisting of 19 men and 11 women. The most prevalent age group was 46-65 years
( 46,7 %). All of patients felt their quality of the life was affected. 13 ( 65 % ) mild to
moderate severity subjects experienced no impact to moderate impact, 7 (35%) mild
to moderate severity subjects experienced high impact. 1 (10%) heavy severity
subjects experienced no impact to moderate impact, and 9 (90%) of heavy severity
subjects experienced high impact. The conclusion of this study is that there is a
significant correlation between severity of psoriasis vulgaris with quality of life of
patients at Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province ( p = 0.007 ).
