Fenomenologi Penyintas Covid-19 Di Kota Pekanbaru
The phenomenon of the stigma of Covid-19 survivors in the community is
still a concern for many people, especially Covid-19 survivors. Departing from
the various experiences felt by Covid-19 survivors in the environment where they
live and work. The purpose of this study is to describe and understand how the
communication experience is, how verbal and nonverbal communication is, the
meaning of Covid-19 for survivors in Pekanbaru City.
This study uses a qualitative research method with a phenomenological
approach. Data collection techniques consist of Interview, Observation, and
Documentation. The collection of informants in this study used a purposive
technique with the number of research informants as many as six (6) people.
The results of this study indicate that the communication experience felt by Covid-19
survivors is divided into two, namely the Pleasant Communication Experience (Positive)
which consists of getting support and motivation to recover, feeling well accepted
without feeling excluded, and being able to share information and experiences.
Unpleasant (Negative) communication consists of getting ostracized behavior in the
work environment, easily feeling anxious and worried, losing a loved family member.
Verbal and nonverbal communication that occurs between Covid-19 survivors and their
living and work environment has changed, including, some of the communication is done
without face-to-face contact (WhatsApp Groups), and is carried out directly (face-toface)
at a distance. With communication interactions and changing forms of
communication, survivors interpret Covid-19 as awareness to maintain better health,
reflect on themselves and acknowledge that Covid-19 is real.
