Abstract
Screen printing is a screen printing technique using textile paint as the base
material, which can be applied to any desired media. The development of screen
printing production, especially in packaging, is increasing, forcing screen
printing entrepreneurs to think about how to improve the quality of screen
printing results and increase screen printing productivity. The purpose of
changing the glass screen printing machine from manual to semi-automatic is to
speed up and also save operator power in the glass screen printing production
process. This semi-automatic glass screen printing machine uses a 0.5 hp electric
motor with 1800 rpm as its initial drive. An electric motor is used to convert
electrical energy into mechanical energy in the form of rotation or rotation. The
mechanical energy in the form of rotation is then converted into translational
motion which will move the screen and molding. In this semi-automatic glass
screen printing machine also uses a speed reducer gearbox which serves to
reduce the rotation generated from the electric motor and also to increase the
output torque. The process that is carried out to make a semi-automatic glass
screen printing machine is starting from the redesign of the frame, simulation of
the movement mechanism, the machining process, and welding. The other
components of the semi-automatic glass screen printing machine are frame,
screen line shaft, molding seat, molding shaft, shaft rail, screen connector, screen
clamp, rakel seat, rakel shaft, bracket ,and flank motion. Semi-automatic glass
screen printing machine, has dimensions of 800 mm long, 650 mm wide and 1400
mm high. In the process of operation, the glass screen printing machine uses
pedal and switch options to activate the electric motor which then drives the
screen and moulding which is capable of producing 20 glass/minute glass screen
printing which can be displayed on a digital counting.
