Pengaruh Perubahan Iklim Terhadap Kesejahteraan Petani Padi Di Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi

This study aims to determine the effect of climate change on the welfare of
rice farmers in Kuantan Singingi Regency. The climate variables used are
rainfall, rainy days, temperature, humidity, wind speed, duration of sunshine, and
production as a link to Farmer's Terms of Trade and then Farmer's Terms of
Trade to measure welfare. The data used is time series data during the 2008-2020
semester period. This study uses the Multiple Linier Regression and Path Analysis
analysis method using the SPSS version 24 statistical program.
From the results of the partial study of path 1, it can be concluded that the
climate variables have a positive and significant effect on production, namely
wind speed and solar irradiation time. Furthermore, the results of the partial test
of path 2 are rainy days, temperature, and humidity have a significant effect on
Farmer's Terms of Trade. Simultaneously shows that rainfall, rainy days,
temperature, humidity, wind speed, duration of sunshine and production have a
significant effect on the exchange rate of rice farmers. Then the results of the path
analysis test can be concluded that production can only mediate rainfall with
Farmer's Terms of Trade. For the Adjusted R-Squared value, the effect of climate
variables on the production of this study is 0.868, which means 86,8 percent of the
climate and production variables. Furthermore, the Adjusted R-Squared value of
the influence of climate and production variables on the exchange rate of farmers
in this study is 0.745, which means 74,5 percent of the climate and production
variables on the exchange rate of rice farmers. The rest of the effect is explained
by variables outside the research model. Suggestions for the government of
Kuantan Singingi Regency to provide policies in an effort to overcome the effects
of climate change on the food crop sector, especially rice farmers to improve the
welfare of farmers.
