ABSTRACT
The side effect of the soaring price of fuel oil (BBM) and its reserves are becoming
very limited and difficult to control for the future. This triggers the development of
the use of electrical energy in the transportation system as a substitute for fossil
fuels, because electrical energy is easily generated from various sources, including
from renewable energy sources. In this final project, the transmission system for
the student formula car is made in accordance with the design that has been
produced. Some of the components of the transmission system are manufactured
and some are purchased, the components produced are making the chain drive
differential position, the electric motor position, modifying the differential gear,
and modifying the axle shaft. And the components purchased are differential gear,
double universal joint, motor axle, bearing seat, and chain and sprocket.
Furthermore, all existing components are assembled into a single unit, so that the
transmission system for the student formula electric car is obtained. The
transmission system on this student formula electric car uses chain and sprocket,
by modifying the differential gear to become a chain drive differential and because
the suspension system on this electric car is independent so that the axle shaft uses
a double universal joint.
