Pengaruh Konsentrasi Dan Laju Alir Terhadap Penyisihan Logam Fe Pada Air Gambut Menggunakan Membran Komposit Chitosan Alginat Sebagai Adsorben
peat water into clean water is using membrane
technology. The membrane material is one of the most important factors that
determine the performance of the membrane. This study uses a chitosan alginate
composite membrane for peat water treatment located in Rimbo Panjang Village,
Kampar. The chitosan used is derived from shrimp shell waste that has undergone
a process of demineralization, deproteination, and deacetylation, then continued
with the manufacture of chitosan alginate composite membrane made by layer by
layer method. Variations in the concentration of chitosan alginate used were 1:1;
2:1; 2:1,5; and 3:1% (v/v). The results of the research on mechanical properties in
the form of elongation values obtained the best results on the 3:1% (v/v) chitosan
alginate membrane, which was 11.33% and the tensile strength value was 20.82
MPa. In the SEM test of 3:1% (v/v) chitosan alginate membrane, the results
obtained are the pore size range of 23.17 nm – 103.2 nm. In the adsorption
process used variations in flow rates of 2 mL/minute, 3 mL/minute and 4
mL/minute. It was found at a flow rate of 2 mL/minute that the removal of Fe
metal in peat water was 0.1027 mg/L with an efficiency level of 93.72%.
