Pengaruh Ph Dan Waktu Kontak Terhadap Penurunan Cod, Bod Dan Tss Pada Pome Dengan Biokomposit Sms-Sbe Sebagai Adsorben
ABSTRACT
Palm oil processing produces large amounts of liquid waste. Palm oil Mill
Effluent (POME) contains high organic compounds such as COD, BOD and TSS
values are so high that need processing necessary. a method that can be used is
adsorption. In this study, the adsorbent used was Spent Mushroom Substrate
(SMS)-Spent Bleaching Earth (SBE) biocomposite. SMS has potential as an
adsorbent because it has a high carbon content of 64,32% and SBE is a porous
material and have carbon content of 86,29%. The purpose of this study was to
analyze the effect of pH and contact time on the efficiency of BOD, COD and TSS
in POME waste using the adsorption method with SMS-SBE biocomposite as
adsorbent. In this study used variations in pH, that are 2, 4,6,8, and 10 and
variations in contact time 50,60,70,80 and 90 (minutes) with a mass of SMS-SBE
biocomposite 6gr/L. The results showing the best efficiency at pH 10 and a
contact time of 60 minutes with the COD, BOD and TSS efficiencies of 60,26%,
56,34% and 70,42%. The results of the Two Way ANOVA test, pH and contact
time affect the efficiency of COD and BOD with P-values smaller than 0.05,
namely 5.5 x10-11, and 9.9x10-15. While at TSS pH and contact time do not affect
each other seen from the P-value of 0.99.
