Analisis Potensi Pasar Buah- Buahan Di Kota Pekanbaru
ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze the needs and supply sources of fruits in Pekanbaru City and assess its market potential. The method used is descriptive quantitative method, with secondary data obtained from BPS Pekanbaru City and related agencies. Demand analysis was conducted based on data of fruits consumption per capita multiplied by population, while the source of supply was analyzed through comparison between demand and local production. The results showed that the demand for fruits in Pekanbaru City has increased every year, with the most consumed types of fruit are oranges, mangoes, and bananas. This increase is driven by population growth and increasing public awareness of healthy lifestyles. On the other hand, local fruit production has not been able to meet these needs, so most of the fruit supply comes from outside the region. This condition shows that the market potential for fruits in Pekanbaru City is still very large and opens up opportunities for the development of local agribusiness.
